Seduced By Moonlight

A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.
—Oscar Wilde

All action takes place, so to speak, in a kind of twilight, which like a fog or moonlight, often tends to make things seem grotesque and larger than they really are.
—Karl Von Clausewitz

Seduced By Moonlight

Last night you broke into my room with the skills of a thief
and looked for something or someone to reflect upon
your own reflected light. Finding my eyes closed in dark sleep,
you commanded them to open and bear witness to your brilliance.
Tonight you are a ghostly moon passing between
the shadows of clouds unable to hide the light of your grace,
a lone spotlight whose sun's reflection beams from your face
Soon from my bed, I will no longer see you,
but you are there, there like night is there
hiding in wait to disturb my sleep, before the sun
awakes and awashes your seductive light with her own.
