Between Life And Death

It is not the failed relationships which influence our life — they influence our death.
—Anais Nin

Here I am trying to live, or rather, I am trying to teach the death within me how to live.
—Jean Cocteau

Between Life And Death

Distance became important
when I found a road I could not travel.
How far are you from here?
Where in my life does the road to you begin?
The earth has been circumnavigated,
mapped from pole to pole, meridian by meridian.
One step for mankind made upon the dust
of the moon, a rover discovered water on mars.
But the veil between life and death, the nothing
in-between that road from me to you.

Where will I ever find it?
